About Us
Leiana, or Lila Vati Devi is a yoga teacher from Trinidad and Tobago. The name Lila Vati Devi was given to her by her Guru Swami Brahmavidyananda Saraswati, and it means Divine Play of the God.
She began her yoga journey 15 years ago, when she was first introduced to the practice by Karen Stollmeyer, her first yoga teacher who was directly trained under Swami Brahmavidyananda Saraswati.
Leiana was a personal trainer working in gyms, but had become very inspired with yoga, and decided to do two training courses with Bliss Yoga, becoming a full time Yoga Instructor instead. For the past 11 years, she has worked full time as a yoga teacher.. teaching all ages, from young children to seniors in chair yoga.
Leiana believes that through dedication, devotion, discipline, determination and discernment a person can use the tools found in the yoga practice to live a happy, healthy, balanced, harmonious, peaceful and blissful life. She has experienced for herself with the help of yoga, that It is absolutely possible to find a true connection with yourself and the universe, and it is possible to live a stress free, healthy and beautiful life¦ even through all of our life’s hurdles and challenges.
Since ancient times in India, the real essence of yoga has been passed down from teacher to student. Leiana feels very lucky to have learned from such a sincere and esteemed lineage of yoga and with many years of passionately teaching has received blessing from Guru and teacher Karen Stollmeyer to continue to pass the ancient traditions of yoga by conducting teacher training courses, to continue to inspire humanity with the powerful teachings of her Guru Swamiji, Satyananda and Sivananda lineages.
